Internship Update / Termination

Use this form to report the actual end date of your authorized internship — for example, your internship has ended, you are ending early, or you are about to start with a new employer. For a brand-new internship or a renewal, use the internship application form instead.

Before you start

  • For F-1 students with CPT, the end date you report will be used to update your CPT record and SEVIS. Please report the actual end date, not an estimate.
  • If you are switching to a new employer, file this termination first, then submit a new internship/CPT application. CPT authorization is tied to a specific employer and period.
  • You may NOT begin work for any new employer until a new I-20 with CPT is issued.
